Another year has gone by! For the US-Polish Trade Council (USPTC), this was a year of stimulating challenges as we pursued our mission of fostering exchange and cooperation between Poland and the United States in the areas of higher education, science, technology, and innovative business. During this holiday season, we extend to our friends and partners our appreciation for their unfaltering support and enthusiastic involvement in USPTC's work. We wish you peace, happiness, generosity, and prosperity throughout this special time and look forward to more exciting collaborations in 2019!

With warmest thanks and best wishes,

The USPTC Team

In this holiday issue of our newsletter, we recall some USPTC events and successes of 2018:

Poland Day 2018 in Silicon Valley

Months of planning by USPTC supporters on both sides of the Atlantic contributed to the success of the 16th annual Poland Day in Silicon Valley on March 21st–23rd at Stanford University. This year’s US-Poland Science and Technology Symposium centered on the Internet of Things and welcomed government officials, representatives from academia, business executives, and community leaders. The speakers and panelist explored all things cloud, cybersecurity, smart cities, smart transportation, blockchain technology, and cryptocurrency.

Silicon Valley Executive Workshop

In June, in collaboration with Stanford University, USPTC facilitated an interactive Silicon Valley Executive Workshop for leading Polish energy company ENEA. ENEA executives attended the workshop to explore the increasing role of energy storage in the world of intermittent and distributed energy generation and the upcoming surge in random high demand from electromobility, among other opportunities. By actively engaging in presentations and hands-on projects at Stanford University and discussions with Silicon Valley energy experts, ENEA’s executive team developed a knowledge-base for farther improvement of their company’s energy storage strategy.

USPTC continues to work with government, educational, and commercial entities in Poland and the U.S. to support exchanges in high technology, science, and between innovative companies in both countries. USPTC’s program of Silicon Valley office timesharing for Polish companies in our Palo Alto Innovation HUB is attracting significant attention. In 2018, several Polish companies from Katowice, under the auspices of the City of Katowice, joined the Innovation HUB to explore and expand their opportunities and growth potential.

Happy Holiday Season

and a Wonderful 2019 to You ALL!
